How to use it

One question: are the servers up?

1 Ask about the servers.

Say "are the servers up".

D47 says Online, In maintenance, Offline or Unknown, and how long ago it checked.

are the servers up Ask It answers from the last check and needs no model. "Is elite down" and "server status" ask the same thing.

! The one that stops people.

Turn on Server status under Outside sources in Settings.

With the setting off, D47 says so and checks nothing.

Off means no answer. D47 only checks while the setting is on.
Why it works this way

D47 answers from the check it already makes, not a new one.

1 Asking sends nothing.

TIMED CHECK goes to Frontier LAST ANSWER kept in memory YOUR QUESTION reads it, sends nothing

Only the state word is given, never Frontier's own text.

The details

D47 reads the state from its server status check. These tools make no network request.

Ask for it

“are the servers up” “is elite down” “server status”

Online. Checked 3 minutes ago.

With Server status off, D47 says “Server status is off. Turn it on under Outside sources in Settings to check the servers.” Before the first check it says “Server status has not been checked yet.”

What Directive 47 can do about it

get_server_status

The state of Elite’s servers, Online, In maintenance, Offline or Unknown, and how long ago it was checked. Unknown means the last request failed or its answer could not be read.
